in Fun Stuff,Promotions

Father’s Day is an occasion to celebrate the contribution that our fathers have made on our lives. Many people send or give cards or gifts to their fathers. Common Father’s Day gifts include sports items or clothing, electronic gadgets, outdoor cooking supplies and tools for household maintenance.

Father’s Day is a relatively modern holiday so different families have a range of traditions. These can range from a simple phone call or greetings card to large parties honoring all of the ‘father’ figures in a particular extended family. Father figures can include fathers, step-fathers, fathers-in-law, grandfathers and great-grandfathers and even other male relatives.

We want you to treat Dad to something different (and delicious) this year by winning a FREE catered meal from Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes for 10 people. Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes offer catering at select locations and we want to bring the party to you and your family.

Winners will receive Caesar Salad Asiago, Chicken Wonton Salad, a soup of your choice, 2 pasta salads, baked potatoes & all the toppings, assorted muffins and Chocolate Chip Cookies for 10. Dad would be so HAPPY!

My husband is a picky eater, his mother was not a gentle soul and would more or less force various vegetables on her children’s dinner plates. One did not dare not eat them. Now an adult, my husband will not eat but maybe 3 vegetables (surprise!). So it is wonderful and a bit strange that his favorite restaurant (and mine) is Souplantation!. He will start with the Cesear Salad and add a few select vegie morsels on top. Such nutrition! Thank you for being there, Rancho Bernardo , our favorite Souplantation.

We would love to win a catering party for 10. We would celebrate at my mother and father-in-law’s house. We would love to have a reason for the whole family to get together and what better reason is there than to share a meal from Sweet Tomatoes?

My fondest memory with a father at SouplantationSweet Tomatoes happened abt 5 years ago when my husband went to the restaurant with our oldest daughter…it was after church and clearly he wanted a heavier meal but wanted to make her happy so he ate everthing in sight it seemed! Since that day he has been back several times.
If we won the party for 10, I would use it at my daughter’s apartment which is located across from church; perhaps inviting some of deaf people we interpret for.

The first time I ate at a Souplantation was with my Dad. We were visiting San Diego CA in 2005. My Dad and Grandma went to the store in Mission Valley. They loved it so much he wanted to go back and take me for lunch. He tried all of the soups and pretty much everything elso too : ) We stuffed ourselves so full it was hard to walk out the door. We went back to Indiana and he told family and friends about the new restaurant he had discovered in California. By the way..he was a BIG fan of buffet style restaurants and loved soup, so Souplantion was a dream come true. After that trip I moved to San Diego…would love to say it was all because of Souplantation…but the beautiful weather. Later that year my Dad passed away. I miss him so much everyday. I have many great memories of him and places I go will remind me of him. Souplantation is one of them, everytime I eat at one, I always think of him and how he loved the soup.

My husband, son and I now live in Carlsbad CA and we eat at the one on Marron Rd.

My favorite memory is of my dad taking us fishing to Minnesota. He could sit in that boat all day waiting for the big one! He would take us camping and we learned to appreciate the outdoors. If I won I would take my close friends to Sweet Tomatoes and remember our dads for all they did for us. Sadly, my dad died in January. I miss him dearly.

My dad passed away many years ago so he never experienced Sweet Tomatoes, but I know he would have loved it! I would love to take my son and wife and extended family to Sweet Tomatoes in Lombard, IL. We recently became vegetarians and Sweet Tomatoes has what we like to eat to stay healthy. My favorite memory of my dad was when he put me on his lap and let me drive the car in an empty parking lot.

My favorite memory is my dad taking the volley ball team to Sweet Tomatoes after a big win. My team mates like all the choices we have and my dad likes it because the food is good for us. Eating at Sweet Tomatoes won’t break the bank as my dad says. I would take my family to Sweet Tomatoes in Lombard, IL and treat my dad to show him how much I appreciate everything he does for us.

Family Tradition to go to Sweet Tomatoes every Friday night after a long week of work.
I became Pregnant and still every Friday night…. :) :) :)
It was always so fun to go there and see all the happy children with their parents!
After Baby Jason was born, we were able to bring him so he could be a part of the “happy children scenario!! ”
I will be treating close Friends and Family with the catering gift from Sweet Tomatoes!
Celebrate life! :)

If I won, I would use the catering for my daughter’s rehearsal lunch for her upcoming wedding. What a great way to celebrate! I wish my dad could be here to celebrate with us during this special time, but we lost him to cancer 12 years ago. Growing up we always had dinner together and that was the time when we all shared about our day.

Memories of my father are rich with color and laughter. But I chose a moment in which my father’s love was so evident. As a child I watched my father smoke cigarettes in our home, in the car, and everywhere in between. Always hopeful that he would quit, I remember asking him over and over to put away his “cancer sticks”. One day at school. my teacher issued “contracts” that we could give to a family member or friend asking them to quit for a day. My father thought it was kind of cute, but he did not take it too seriously. When I got down on my knees and begged him to stop, he knew that I meant business. Years later when he had his first heart attack and quit cold turkey, he remembered that day I got on my knees and asked him to embrace his life. And he thanked me for loving him that much.

We went to Orlando to visit friends. They took us to Sweet Tomatoes. My husband just fell in love with the chili–all kinds. Then it was a joke that he was going to need new sneakers when we left there cause he kept running back for more. We have visited many Sweet Tomatoes after that and have become regulars at the Fort Myers one. He checks his emails for coupons and menus weekly!
