SAN DIEGO, July 30, 2014 – Garden Fresh Restaurant Corp. announced today that its Board of Directors has appointed John Morberg as its Chief Executive Officer effective immediately. Mr. Morberg has served as the Company’s interim Chief Executive Officer since May 6, 2014 and as Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel since January 2007.

“Over the past couple of months, John has demonstrated outstanding leadership as the interim CEO and has been working on improving the guest experience in the restaurants,” said Bud Terry, member of the Garden Fresh Board of Directors. “After completing a thorough search, we are confident John is the right leader to take Garden Fresh to the next level.”

Mr. Morberg commented, “After the last two months as interim CEO, I am more energized than ever to capitalize on the potential of our strong brand that is even more relevant to today’s health conscious consumers. We have a very talented team in our restaurants and support center, dedicated to serving our guests, and I look forward to creating a strong future for Garden Fresh and all of its stakeholders.”
